Medically Speaking...for Body, Mind and Soul

Important Medical Test
I want you to get checked out to make sure you're healthy and will be around longer; you require a cat and a dog, so if you are not blessed with both, find a friend or neighbour who does, to perform this test.
Picture a charcoal furry cat with gold eyes focused on you:
STARE INTO THE CAT'S EYES FOR 10 SECONDS...
Now, picture a black puppy with wide-open chocolate brown eyes staring at you:
STARE IN THE LABRADOR'S EYES 10 SECONDS...
Your CAT SCAN and LAB TESTS are now complete!

A black and gray tabby smilingly asks, “Do you feel like working today?” Answered by a black lab with head resting on front paws, while lying in blades of green grass, “No! I just want to dance and celebrate another day!!!” They watch their kittens dancing to music...both on their back feet with front paws outstretched. The last scene is a brown/light tan puppy floppy-eared, and with a lifted forepaw,
says, “Have a GREAT DAY!!! And Enjoy Your Daily Blessings!!!”

Measuring Our Health Through Our Eyes
The Eyes are the Windows of the Soul,” it's said. We see tiny emotions flickering in the eyes we look at. But a doctor can see a lot more ~ warning signs possibly of high blood pressure, diabetes and more.

Roads and Paths are not just places to do a lot of walking on. They hold immense powers of symbolism in our culture, our literature and our art. They are the ones taking us to places we can only imagine. They symbolize the mysteries of other exotic locations, of hidden secrets and views we've never seen before. They are also a great place to walk and admire while we clear our heads and do some thinking.

Human Traits Symbolizing the Equation of Life
Once, all the villagers decided to pray for rain. On the Day of Prayer, all the people gathered, but only one little boy came with an umbrella. That's FAITH.

When you throw a baby in the air, she laughs because she knows you will catch her. That's TRUST.
Every night we go to bed without the assurance of being alive the next morning, but we still set the alarms to wake up. That's HOPE.

We plan great things for tomorrow, in spite of zero knowledge of the future. That's CONFIDENCE.
We see the world suffering, but still we get married and have children. That's LOVE.
On an old man's shirt was written a sentence...
I am sweet 16 with 64 years experience. That's ATTITUDE.

Why Parents Drink!
A father, passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that everything was picked up and his bed was made. Then, he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the pillow, that was addressed ~ Dad!
With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope with trembling hands and read the letter:
Dear Dad ~ it's with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you.
I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is also nice. But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercings, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But, it's not only the passion...Dad, she's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children. Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that 'marijuana' doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.

In the meantime, we will pray that SCIENCE will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it. Don't worry, Dad, I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

Some day, I'm sure that we will be back to visit, so that you can get to know your grandchildren.
Love, Your son, John

P.S. Dad! None of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the Report Card that's in my center desk drawer.
I love you...call me when it's safe to come home.

(With grateful thanks to Jeanne, Dilu, Sydney and Tom
for the above 'life situations')

David Frost, an English television interviewer
who used to work a lot in the United States, said:
"He's turned his life around. He used to be depressed and miserable;
Now he's miserable and depressed."
